My name is Michael Sanders, some people just call me ‘Sanders,’ some people ‘Mikey,’ others ‘Michael,’ I’m fairly apathetic about what to be called. I live in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, and love it here. I am 22 years old, and have been here for almost 19 years and sincerely believe that it is one of the greatest areas to live and work in, in the United States. I hope to plant my business here and continue to thrive in this area for years to come.
I’m an aspiring game developer, and experienced game tester. I have background in the field of game, tool and engine quality assurance and quality control but my passion lies within game project management. Life is a constant endeavor to be more humble, and more willing so I hope to always be learning about not just game testing and project management, but other related development fields.
Hypocritically, my age is not something I like to talk about or tell many people about, and here I am talking about it. I have found that many people have a pre-disposition to treat you radically different based on your age, which is just natural I’m sure. I have also learned that not mentioning my age when I can can do wonders for your credit. I am by no means ashamed of my age, and in fact I am the opposite — proud of my accomplishments and looking at it as a gauge of how much I have learned and how much I have left to learn in life.
Understandably, some people have a tendency to not want to associate with someone who is just as wise, if not wiser than them. Being an aspiring Project Manager, I have to circumvent people’s feelings regarding my age by proving myself to be a worthy leader, caring individual, and a focused goal-driven team player. At first, I have encountered resistance to my experience, or age, but to me — it’s a challenge. In leadership roles, I hope to show my colleagues that I can help deliver a great product, supervise a talented team and communicate effectively with ease.
Be that as it may, I have got a lot of work to do and a long road in front of me. On this website, you have found information about me and my life, and are certain to find my writings and rants on my blog, my experience and my resume, details about the projects and endeavors I am working on, some pictures and videos to keep your A.D.D. at bay and different methods to contact me.
